As we prepare for another year of science fairs, early mornings and late nights of homework, we remember the hustle-bustle that comes with the school year. This year, remember the importance of good nutrition for your pupil. Eating well will help them to learn and grow and help you feel reassured that they get through the day feeling great!
A few ideas for healthy snacks:
-Ants On A Log: 1 tbsp. peanut butter, 3 stalks celery, 2 tbsp. raisins
-Ricotta Stuffed Figs: 4 figs stuffed with part-skim ricotta
-Par-Fit: 4-6 oz. of low-fat yogurt, 1/4 c. berries and 1/4 c. low sugar granola
-Smoothie: 4 oz. 2% milk, 1 c. of fruit of choice, 1/4 c. oatmeal
Make sure to educate your munchkin on the importance of a well-balanced diet. A plate with more than 3 colors is a "happy plate"!
