Avoiding Holiday Gain

It's here! Christmas is less than 24 hours away. For most of us this means spending time with loved ones and gathering around food and drink to reflect on the year and welcome a new one. Are you eating late meals? How about taking advantage of that buffet? If you are like most Americans, you could be fighting off extra holiday weight.

Avoid that cliché and stand tall to your cravings and temptations! Here are a few tricks to help you trick the tipping scale:
-Eat your regular meals, at your regular times.
-Focus on nutrient dense foods, low in calorie but high in vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein.
-Stay active. Get up and move a bit!
-Eat slowly-it is not a race.

Most of all, enjoy the holiday and remember what it truly stands for. Spend quality time with family and friends (if you're lucky-enjoy the day off).

Merry Christmas,
