How to stay motivated with your weight loss during and after the New Year.

     Keeping interest in your weight loss goals throughout the year (that's 12 whole months), can be a challenge. If you approach it in the right way, you'll have a successful weight loss and be ready to conquer maintenance. 

     Here are a few of our favorite bits of advice for staying motivated long term:
  • Believe it or not, focusing on today's goal may be the key to success! Avoid stressing about what the distant future may hold for your weight loss or maintenance. Do what you can today to stay on track. 
  • Log your exercise! There are so many gadgets that our patients use to track their physical activity. From Fit Bits to calorie tracking apps, there's bound to be one you find useful. 
  • Think positive thoughts. The more you tell yourself you will be successful and you are successful, the more you confidence in your decisions you will build. 
  • Start learning how to prepare your own food (that is, if you don't already). Treat your next days meal prep like it's a very important meeting. Make it a priority!
  • Visit Access Medical regularly to weigh in, discuss your questions with our friendly staff and receive encouragement.
